The client had just purchased two adjoining studio apartments and wanted to combine them into a one-bedroom bachelorette apartment of 75 sq.m. renovating them into a dynamic functional space. The new space is arranged as an open plan living area with kitchen. The new bathroom acts as a central volume between the bedrooms (left and right) and the common areas of the apartment. A neutral tone palette was used in the main spaces of the apartment with modern design elements such as the TV wall with back-lighting, the wooden shelving ‘reading corner’ and the marble kitchen island serving as a multifunctional element in the space. The bathroom has a spa-like feel to it being clad with large natural stone tiles and a marble shower backdrop acting as the focal point of the space. The concept for the entire apartment is to be functional, cozy and contemporary ideal for a single person or a young couple.
